Church Privacy Notice (California): IntelliScan101
This notice is for a California campus using IntelliScan101 Church Attendance. It is the in-product notice version PN-CHURCH-CA-2026-01. It is not legal advice. Counsel must review it before any live scheme.
Who Holds What
TempleVault is the system of record for membership: names, status, events, and the church attendance record after a successful push.
IntelliScan101 holds:
- Face templates (a number pattern from an enrolment photo or short video), stored encrypted
- Local attendance events for a service (who was marked present, when, which camera, match score)
- Review items for low-confidence matches and unknown visitors
IntelliScan101 does not store a church membership database. It does not create members. It sends attendance to TempleVault. Attendance already accepted in TempleVault is managed there.
Face templates are sensitive personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CPRA). We do not sell this information. We do not share templates with other churches or with the housing product line.
Purpose
Match a consenting adult (18+) who already exists in TempleVault, at a door or in the sanctuary, so ushers are not relying only on a paper list, then send that present mark to TempleVault.
What We Do Not Do
- Auto-enrol visitors or strangers
- Match anyone under 18
- Place cameras in restrooms, counselling rooms, or children's rooms
- Use faces for marketing, giving prompts, or automated discipline
- Mix this data with Salvation Army housing occupancy, Fire Mode, or welfare
Lawful Use (to Be Confirmed Per Congregation)
- The member (or their authorised representative) consents before a face is linked. Consent is captured in-product against this notice version.
- California: treat templates as sensitive personal information. Do not sell. Honour deletion of the face link on request. TempleVault remains responsible for membership fields.
Retention
- Enrolment photos and short videos expire after a short, configurable period. The template remains until the face link is removed.
- Local attendance rows follow site retention settings.
- Successful pushes are TempleVault's record.
Your Choices
You can refuse a face link and still be marked present by an usher. You can ask for a copy of the local template and attendance events we hold. You can ask us to delete the face link. We cannot unwind a present mark already accepted inside TempleVault; ask TempleVault administrators for that.
